This is a good way to do a budget before building your new home. This is also something to do before laying the slab. Most Architects and builders will not give advise on making your home more secure. One of the first considerations' would be the large amount of glass that comes with a modern home should be laminated or even high impact laminated glass the choice of laminated glass has a couple of advantages.

1. Improved thermal properties heat transfer is slower then that of the industry standards of 3mm float glass and 4mm toughened glass.
2. This is the best one, higher security because the glass won't fall out when broken like other glass.
3. Noise reduction like heat and cold sound is also dulled with laminated glass.

A quote from plans is not the best as it will only give you an approximate price and will always be subject to an on site check measure when your new home is at lock up. Blinds and colour choices are always best finalised when the house is nearing completion.
